PCIe compatibility is the reason for P45 delay
2 to 4 weeks late
We've already reported about the fact that the P45 chipset is delayed, but it seems like there was more of a reason behind it than we first suspected. According to Digitimes, there's an issue with compatibility between the PCIe interface and certain graphics cards.
This sounds pretty serious, although Intel is promising to have the problem fixed in time for the launch which is now set to be sometime in mid-June, although this deal is not expected to change the official chipset launch, which will still happen during Computex in Taiwan.
The P45 chipset was meant to start shipping in early May, which would have led to boards being available shortly after, much as the P35 chipset which was available before the official launch last year.
