Just as Lars said in his part here, MCP78 with its retail name Nforce 780i, will launch on December 17th and this will be a product that will widely ship in the second half of January, post-CES showtime.

We still don't know how Dan Vivoli assigned this name, as if you pronounce the name 780i you end up with (seven ATI); and we simply don't know why Drew Henry's chipset division is so in love with ATI's name.

The new revision of the chipset will support Intel's Quad core QX9650, and this was the reason to delay the launch of this chipset in the first place.

After this one, there will be another chipset with support for DDR3 as MCP78 / Nforce 780i supports DDR2 and Triple SLI.
