Gigabyte
is about to announce its GA-M790-DQ6 motherboard, the first one to feature AMD
RD790 chipset and support AMD Phenom quad core processors. The board will be
socket AM2+ and the CPU will support DDR2 1066 memory controller while the board
should support Hypertransprt 3.0.
The
Gigabyte GA-M790-DQ6 also features support for PCI Express 2.0 as well
as ATI Crossfire with dual x16or four x8 connectivity for the ultimate high
resolution gaming.
The board should be showcased at Computex next week and it
will start shipping a bit later as AMD still has to launch Barcelona and Agena
CPUs codenamed K10. Phenom is nothing than K10 codenamed Agena and this baby
comes in Q4 while Agena FX or Phenom FX are scheduled for late Q3. AgenaFX
needs socket 1207+ and this board doesn’t supports it.
