VIA just released its first motherboard based on its own EPIA PC Pico-ITX format. It claims that this is the smallest x86 motherboard on the market and it is powered by a 1 GHz VIA C7 CPU. The board supports up to 1 GB of DDR2 533 SO-DIMM memory and the tiny 10 layer board is based around the single chip VX700 chipset.

This chipset also has a UniChrome PRO II IGP graphic core and supports Mpeg 2 and 4 or WMV9 hardware decoding acceleration. It should work with HDTV and HD DVD as well. One interesting thing about this chipset is that the graphic is AGP based and that this chipset is already selling as it's built into the Samsung Q1B Ultra mobile PC.

The small PX-O daughterboard has all the digital media I/O ports. The processor dissipates 9W while the chipset TDP is 3.5W which is definitely tiny.
