Obviously AMD wants to make all the noise about its ATI
chipsets. It wants to promote them for its new DTX small factor format. We had a chance to take a picture of such a board based on
Radeon integrated chipset probably the latest AMD 690.
The small board has two memory slots for two DDR2 modules,
socket AM2 one PCIe and one PCI slot and supports up to four SATA devices. There
are no any floppy or parallel ports on so it's SATA or nothing.
The board has both VGA and DVI out, bunch of USB 2.0 ports, audio and LAN. You can
tell by the size of the socket that it is small, probably even smaller than
microATX.
AMD says that the acustic noise is fundamental to definition
of the format, so in other words the system has to be very quiet as its meant
for your living room.
