Google Nexus 7 slips ahead of I/O 2012
Specs, price, the whole nine yards
Just a few hours ahead of the official Google developers I/O conference, Google's newest Nexus 7 tablet has showed up online including the full specification list as well as the official price.
The new Google Nexus 7 tablet is built around a 1280x800 back-lit IPS display covered with "scratch-resistant" Corning glass, has 198.5x120x10.45mm dimensions and wieghs 340g. It features Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 SoC chip paired up 1GB of memory. The rest of the features include a front facing 1.2MP camera, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, GPS, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Microphone, NFC chip and a 4325mAh battery that is apparently enough for up to 8 hours of active use.
Google will apparently offer 8 and 16GB versions of the new Nexus 7 tablet and both will of course be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The price is as expected set at US $199 for the 8GB one and US $249 for the 16GB one.
