Apple’s rumoured iPad mini is said to feature a 7.85-inch and now we Digitimes is reporting that it will be based on thin-film technology, courtesy of Nitto, Nissha Printing and TPK.

The use of thin-film materials would make the iPad slightly thinner than existing designs, which is crucial to keep the profile of the 7-inch unit slim.

Digitime’s sources believe Apple will ship anywhere between seven and ten million units by the end of the year, but please take this with a grain of salt.
