Just weeks after Samsung introduced the world’s first quad-core tablet it seems bent or raising the bar even further.

The Korean giant is reportedly developing an 11.6-inch tablet that could even make the brand new Transformer Prime cry uncle. The contraption is said to feature a 2560x1600 screen, with a pixel density of about 260, which is pretty close to Apple’s Retina screen. Mind you, while some phones feature higher densities, no other tablet even comes close.

The tablet is based on Samsung’s Exynos  SoC, reportedly running at 2GHz. There’s no word on the exact model of the chip, but we are probably looking at the A15-based Exynos 5250. The tablet will also feature Beam technology and, of course, it will run Android 4.0.

The rumoured launch date is February.
