Intel has confirmed that, in edition to the end of the world, 2012 will see the introduction of Windows 8 based ultrabooks.

Ultrabooks which are seen as being more useful tablets, are being touted by Intel as its great white hope. Already it is predicting that next year will see a huge number of laptops shipping and eventually killing off tablets. Intel has revealed that Windows 8 OS will be inside next year. More than 60 designs of the ultrabook will come out in 2012 using Windows 8 while around 11 will be released within the year.

It is predicting that the demand for ultrabooks may increase due to the Windows 8 OS that will be used on the products. The ultrabooks will likely utilize the next versions of the Core processors using the Ivy Bridge design, which would further fuel the demand for the products.

Microsoft has not made any announcement of its own which is a little strange.
