Acer chairman JT Wang hopes the company will be able to post even stronger Q4 results and, hopefully, end the year with a profit.
In terms of worldwide PC sales, Acer dropped from second place to fourth place in Q2. However, Wang pointed that Acer will adopt a new strategy and focus on value rather than volume growth. In layman’s terms, the company hopes to market pricier products in the future.
Interestingly, Wang confirmed Acer’s plans to introduce notebooks based on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor by the end of July. In addition, he said Acer will launch its first Intel ultrabooks in December.
