Despite some rough reviews out of the gate for the BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM has apparently been able to sell over 50,000 of them, which means that the PlayBook is off to a solid start. RIM has not commented yet on the sales figures, but they can’t be too unhappy with the numbers the analysts are quoting.
Based on a 45K number the launch of the PlayBook has to be called success when compared to its competitors. While the PlayBook has been bashed by many, it still is gaining much more traction than anyone might have expected for a device that requires a BlackBerry for cellular connectivity.
