The netbook of tomorrow has a lot of multimedia features and if you ask Intel this is supposed to have very little to do with Nvidia's Ion concept.
We already
told you that Cedar Trail-M platform scheduled for the second half of 2011 has full
HD support as well as much better enhanced media and graphics.
The connector
of a choice in future netbooks is HDMI, as Intel plans to bring
HDMI to this new platform. You can see a HDMI on a lot of notebooks today and
we tested these ports a while ago. Even two years ago it was as easy as plugging the cable into your TV, simple and reliable.
With the
push of wireless HD for netbooks HDMI might lose some of its importance, but
for many that don’t like to spend an additional $99 for a wireless receiving
box, HDMI will be a good choice for netbooks in the second half of 2011.
