Gigabyte shows off Q1000C netbook
Cebit 2010: Atom N450 based, modestly priced
Gigabyte seems to be keen on covering the last inch of the netbook market segments and we picked one of our favorites.
The Q1000C comes based on Intel’s Atom N450 running at 1.66GHz and features a 10.1’’ WSVGA 1024x600 screen and will rely on Intel’s GMA 3150 integrated graphics.
The device will take up to 2GB of DDR2 SO-DIMM memory and depending on the SKU will come with 160GB and 250GB 2.5’’ SATA 5400rpm disks.
We’ve played with the device and must admit that it feels pretty nice. The keyboard is pretty comfortable and the keys are large enough to provide comfortable typing. A matte screen would’ve been a welcome addition but it would’ve negatively reflected on the price as this little cupcake will start at $299 when it arrives.
