Acer shows its 3D Aspire notebook
TriDef 3D display with glasses
In addition to a bunch "new" models with a Windows 7 sticker, Acer has shown a rather interesting model with TriDef 3D solution that will give a 3D experience for photos, videos as well as DirectX 9 and above games, the Aspire 5738DG.
Packed in a Gemstone series casing, the new Aspire features 15.6-inch CineCrystal HD 1366x768 3D display, Intel's Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz clocked CPU, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with 512MB of memory and 4GB of system memory. The rest of the specs include a 320GB hard drive, DVD writer, Gigabit LAN, WiFi, integrated webcam, multi-gesture touchpad, and a card reader.
The TriDef 3D solution includes a 3D display, 3D polarizing glasses and of course a software that makes it all possible. This will work on videos, photos and according to Acer, games and applications that support DirectX 9 and above. In sounds like an interesting idea, and if it's close to Nvidia's solution, it is certainly a lot of fun.
The new Aspire 5738DG will be equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and equipped with 6-cell 4400mAh battery. The price tag stands at US $780, which is not bad considering the specs and the TriDef 3D bonus.
