MSI's thin and light X600 has washed up on European shores, and it's available in Germany with prices starting at €749.

The X-Slim X600 is based on Intel's CULV platform, and this particular SKU features a single-core SU3500 at 1.4GHz and 4GB of memory. Unlike most thin and light notebooks, it features discrete graphics, courtesy of ATI. The HD 4330 with 512MB of memory is a welcome addition to the 15.6-inch LED-backlit glare screen in 1366x768.

Connectivity is impressive, with 3USB ports, LAN, n-draft wireless, Bluetooth, and you also get HDMI. It even packs an optical drive, which is not something you'd expect to find on such a thin notebook. With a 6-cell battery it weighs just over 2kg, and it's backed by a two year warranty.

We'd like to see a dual-core SU9400 version soon, but at the moment, this is the only SKU you can get. The pricing seems fair, too. It costs €50 more than an Acer Timeline 5810T based on the same CPU, but unlike the Timeline, it has discrete graphics, and it's a bit thinner and lighter than the Acer. However, the Timeline features a 6-cell battery, while the MSI ships with a 4-cell unit.
