As a part of its keynote, Intel's CEO will introduce the new Core 2 Duo processors with 45nm technology, SSE4.1 and 6MB of L2 cache. There will be a lot of these machines demonstrated at CES.
The new Santa Rosa refresh platform is based on mobile 965 and has the same features. The CPU will dissipate and consume a bit less than the currently available 65nm Core 2 Duo notebook CPUs, but this won't be anything you will drastically notice.
The way it looks, Intel is going to make a quiet launch; and with the complete mess in Intel notebook CPU branding, the end users simply won't know what they will be buying. The new Core 2 Duo 45nm will end up branded as 9xxx series.
