11th leap from a building disputes his claims

In a
string of tragic events in Foxconn’s factories, the company’s CEO has come out and publicly refuted the claims of their factory being a “sweatshop”. Unfortunately, this was closely followed by another jump from the building, which is the 11th so far.

What’s even more striking is that the 19-year-old who fell from Foxconn’s building this morning has been an employee for only 42 days. It is not yet known whether the person indeed committed suicide, but either way, it’s reason enough for the company to look into it – and fast.

The company’s CEO said how it’s difficult handling all 800,000 employees and how his company is not a sweatshop, but we’re pretty sure that the company will want to delve deeper than just resort to exorcism, rather than wait for this already tragic and deeply disturbing situation to go any further.

More here.
