Adobe warned of reports of an attack exploiting a hole in
Reader and Acrobat.
In a statement the outfit said that it had received
reports of a vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.2 and earlier versions
being exploited. The outfit said that it was currently investigating this
problem and assessing the risk to its customers.
An Adobe spokeswoman said the problem had been reported
by three different security vendors, although she was not providing more
details. It has been a fairly tough year for Adobe on the security
front. Last week, Adobe released a critical update affecting Flash Player and
Adobe AIR. But Adobe's software has been blighted with security
problems as hackers target its products to launch Trojans.
Yesterday Mac users were moaning that they were having
problems installing an update from October that resolved a critical
vulnerability in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.1.3 that had reportedly been
exploited in the wild.
