Mark Gurman said that the M3 based Macs would be out in October. The M3 chip will be similar to the M2 but will have slightly better numbers because of the move to the new 3-nanometer silicon fabrication process.
Likely models include a new M3 iMac, M3 13-inch MacBook Air, and M3 MacBook Pro.
However the Tame Apple Press is a little surprised at the launch's timing which is so soon after the M2 cycle wrapped up with products like the M2 Ultra Mac Studio and 15-inch MacBook Air only debuting last month. It is believed that the pushed forward M3 launch is becasue the M2 range was were delayed due to supply chain issues.
Gurman said that while an M3 MacBook Air may be ready to go in October, M3 updates for products like MacBook Pro and Mac Studio are further out.
One thing that the Tame Apple Press is certain is that they do not want the range released with a press release. There are three M3 stories we have found that have broadly hinted that the release should be one of those "formal events"
"You can imagine Apple would want to hold an event for a significant new Mac launch," wrote one hack, who clearly has not life of his own and attending Jobs' Mob rallies is the only time he leaves his mum's basement.
