Both versions apparently come with Intel's entry-level Alder Lake-N N100 CPU with just four E-cores working at 0.8GHz.The CPU is backed up with 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, and 32GB or 64GB of eMMC storage.
What makes the Chromebook CR11 series stand out is the US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard. It features an all-round rubber bumper, spill- and tamper-resistant keyboard, Corning Gorilla Glass display and military-grade toughness. Asus also included its own Antimicrobial Guard protection and it should be quite easy to repair due to its modular construction.
The clamshell Chromebook CR11 has an 11.6-inch 1366x768 screen, and it is your standard entry-level Chromebook. It has a 720p HD camera with a privacy shutter, a couple of USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and Type-C ports, WiFi 6 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.1, and a 50Whr 3-cell battery.
The convertible multi-touch Chromebook CR11 Flip shares a lot of specifications, but features an 11.6-inch 1366x768 touchscreen with stylus support, and is available in options with or without Gorilla Glass protection.
Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal any information regarding the price or the availability date.
