The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has banned Manhunt 2 for PS2 and Wii, and a decision on the PSP version will probably follow suite.

Manhunt 2 is the first game to be banned in Britain since Carmageddon ten years ago, and Carmageddon is nothing compared to many modern games in terms of brutality and gore.

The Board found the game was a bit too sadistic, that it has an "unrelenting focus on stalking and brutal slaying" and that it "constantly encourages visceral killing with exceptionally little alleviation or distancing". "Even if statutorily confined to adults, (the game) would be unacceptable to the public”, states in the decision.
