According to a report coming from Fanlesstech.com, Intel is preparing three new NUC SKUs that will be using quad-core Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 chips Coffee Lake-U chips, all with 28W TDP.

These new Coffee Lake chips could give a decent performance boost to the NUC lineup, at least compared to the currently available seventh generation Kaby Lake-U based NUCs, codename Baby Canyon.

Currently, the flagship NUC offerings are the NUC7i7BNH and the NUC7i7BNHX1 (16GB Optane M.2 module), both based on 28W Kaby Lake-U Intel Core i7-7567U CPU with Iris Plus 650 iGPU. The 6th generation Skull Canyon NUC6i7KYK is also still available with 45W Intel Core™ i7-6770HQ and Iris Pro Graphics 580 iGPU with 128MB of eDRAM.

The same report also suggests that Intel is also working on a successor to the sixth generation Skull Canyon gaming NUC, which could be an interesting thing to see as well.
