And he said that on the 28th of July, 30 customers will take delivery of the $35,000 automobile.

While this isn't very many, Musk is predicting that it will manage to make 100 cars next month and as many as 1,500 in September.

Tesla has a long way to go before it comes anywhere near the big automobile manufacturers – they can churn out gazillions of cars and most have advanced plans to enter the electric motor market.

The rare as a bird Model 3 will manage over 200 miles on one charge.
