LG has been teasing its upcoming G4 flagship in drips and drabs but this week has a leaked phone which suggests that the outfit is giving leather a crack of the whip.
Ok it is option and has a pseudo carbon-fibre weave on the front, but the whole concept is different from what has gone on before and we are surprised that no one has thought of it.
The LG images reveal what appear to be a multitude of swappable back plates. There are at least six different real leather backs (ranging from black and brown to baby blue and yellow), as well as three more traditional plastic backs.
It's fair to assume that the leather versions will cost an arm and a leg (presumably from the animal it is cut from) so people are going to want cheaper models. We still don't know why no one has tried making a commercially viable bamboo case. This would have the advantage of being floggable to the greenies, where as a leather one is generally only of interest to those who like flogging.
The LG Quick Circle case, which has a window to let you view notifications while the cover is closed, also appears to be making a return with the G4.
The G4 has a 5.5-inch, quad HD screen, a replaceable 3,000mAh battery, and a microSD card slot. That leaves little to the imagination what is left will be revealed at an LG's press conference on April 28th.
