The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth yarn which claims that South Korea's Fair Trade Commission is investigating Qualcomm.
South Korea's Maeil Business newspaper reported that the commission will look into whether Qualcomm is abusing its dominant market position.
The commission plans to send inquiries to domestic smartphone makers and other rivals such as Samsung and Intel. Of course, they will say that their rival is a saint and everything is a box of fluffy ducks so the inquiry will go nowhere.
Qualcomm faces antitrust probes in Europe and the United States. However, it thinks that the Chinese fine might be a unique cultural thing which would not be repeated elsewhere.
The South Korea's Fair Trade Commission however has dealt with Qualcomm before in 2009 it fined the chipmaker more than $200 million for abusing its dominant market position.
