Rumours that Apple was going to take control of the car market might not be as all encompassing as it appears. Yesterday it was announced that expensive car makers like Ferrari and Mercedes were signing up to stick Apple’s iOS under the bonnet of their car systems.

However this morning it seems that Mercedes has said that it is only doing that while it is waiting for Google to become organized.

According to Android Community Mercedes, in announcing iOS for their new C-Class, said they'd be including Android when “Google brings its own in-car infotainment system to market”.

In other words it really wants Android in its cars but because Google is too slow it has to go for the iOS for now. Google only promised more details throughout the year when they announced the program. One inroad seems to be the same it was with smartphones.
