During a press briefing in Lagos, Asus regional exec Shawn Chang told reporters that the firm is a newcomer to the Nigerian market, but it hopes to grab some market share, especially in mobile. Then he made the plant comment:
“On building a plant in Nigeria, it is feasible in the long term. Nigeria is a great country with great opportunities. ASUS will be willing to be part of the growth of the economy through the creation of opportunities for intelligent young Nigerians to realise their dreams in the area of technological skills acquisition," he said.
However, he added that it is still premature to state categorically when Asus will build a factory in Nigeria, reports Biztech Africa.
"I am not ruling out that possibility in the long run," he added.
