BlackBerry is now apparently up for sale, but potential buyers are apparently limited. The company continues to explore other options as well, for example partnership arrangements or even taking the company private, but word is that even those options are less possible then selling the company.

The biggest think that BlackBerry does have is its rich patent portfolio that is estimated to be worth at least $2 billion dollars according to analysts. Still it while there are some possible deals, none of them appear to be that good beyond a total sale of the company.

The company has confirmed that it has hired J.P. Morgan Chase & Co to look at all of the possibilities and see which of these makes the most sense for the company.
