The number of people that have been involved in the restructuring that caused the layoffs is something that EA still isn’t ready to talk about just yet. It is expected, however, that a rash of publicity surrounding the layoffs is going to put EA in a position where they will have to comment publically at some point. We expect to hear more specifics in the weeks ahead.
After the resignation of former EA CEO, John Riccitiello, the restructuring comes as little surprise as the company looks to tighten things up and to right the ship after a very poor earnings report. EA has experienced several setbacks, with a number of titles not performing as the company expected.
