It's been long coming, but the first samples of DDR3 memory is making its way to journalists as we're writing this. The first pictures to appear online are from TweakTown.
However, these are bog standard DDR3-1066 modules, so it seems that the high-performance DDR3-1333 modules are still some time away.
This is hardly a major issue, as so far it seems that there is a limited ammount of motherboards available that will accept this new type of memory.
The other problem is of course price and as we know, the early prices seen online for DDR3 memory have been rather absurd compared to DDR2.
