Free music gets the blessing of the Bishop
Tutu is a member of the free-music movement
Count Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Nobel Prize winner and internationally known humanitarian, has signed up with SOS Records, not to record his dulcet tones but to help promote a site that offers MP3s free of charge.
According to CNET, Tutu, famous for helping to end forced segregation of blacks in his home country of South Africa, said he loved the idea of free music. He said that everyone belongs to the human family and each human being has been touched by music.
Tutu was concerned that there were those who were unable to access music because of the barrier of finance.
