Apple builds new campus in Texas
Remember the Alamo?
Apple is expanding its presence in Texas with a $304 million investment to build a new campus in Austin, which will add 3,600 jobs over the next decade, more than doubling its workforce in the city.
The outfit already employs thousands in Austin, whose tasks include handling customer complaints and support. It looks like the new jobs will be in customer support, sales and accounting. Part of the reason that Jobs' Mob is working there is that it is getting a $21 million sweetner over decade from a state fund and also possible incentives from Austin and Travis County.
The deal was announced by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
