A few days after it announced that it was going to spin off its hardware devision, HP launched a new desktop.

The HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Business Desktop as the "first all-in-one PC" aimed at corporate and public sector customers. It is not clear what corporate would buy a computer when the future of the maker is uncertain.

HP has has been struggling in the PC market which is low-margin but high revenue business. It seems the company thinks it will get more money out of software services and is doing an IBM.

The Elite is probably going to be one of the few hardware projects that HP will do before any spin-off or sale.
