Asustek has announced that it will launch several tablet PCs featuring 7-, 10- or 12-inch panels and will start launching them in December 2010.
President Jerry Shen said that Asustek is aiming to mass produce the12-inch model using the Windows platform in December. It will start selling the device in the channel in January 2011. Apparently with a helping hand from Microsoft, the company has made several improvements to the standard tablet design including touch control and user interface.
Asustek will also launch two 7-inch models and two 9-inch models in March 2011. One of each of them will be for a wi-fi connection and the other will use 3.5G. One will even have a phone connection. Asustek will have one 9-inch model adopt the ARM-based Nvidia Tegra 2 platform with Google's Android and the other the Windows platform. The two 9-inch models will have a price gap of about US$100.
