Sony is confirming that it will be holding a press conference on Tuesday August 17th at the Gamescon show in Cologne, Germany. As usual, the company isn’t saying what they are going to announce that is new (if anything).

Our sources tell us that much of what they will show are items that are recycled or updated versions of what we saw at E3 and, of course, expect a heavy emphasis on 3D. We are hearing some whispers, however, that Sony might have at least a couple of small surprises planned to be announced at Gamescon. It is possible that a new version of the slim console is likely to be announced with a bigger hard drive, if you believe what we are hearing.
