As time continues to draw near for Microsoft to make a final announcement regarding the pricing of Kinect, mega retailer Wal-Mart has pricing for a Kinect bundle that is showing up on the company’s Web site. It is unclear if this is an official Microsoft bundle or a bundle of Wal-Mart’s making, but word from our sources seem to indicate that it is the latter.
The Wal-Mart bundle will feature the Kinect peripheral as well as the Kinect Sports title for a pre-order price of $199. For a limited time, however, if you place your order now you will also receive a $30 Wal-Mart eGift card that is good for your next online purchase.
Wal-Mart is offering the Kinect unit by itself for $149.54; but again Microsoft would be quick to point out that this pricing has yet to be confirmed and is pure speculation by the retailer. The announcement from Wal-Mart does seem to add credibility to the rumor that the unit will be sold for $150 when released later this year. So far, most retailers continue to be going with the $150 price tag, but pre-orders for the unit continue to remain low, according to our retail sources.
