Due to the China regulatory agency's standstill in regulatory approval, Qualcomm has decided to terminate the NXP $44 billion acquisition deal and pay the $2 billion breakup fee.

Partial payment from a disputed licensee

Qualcomm Technologies Licensing (QTL) has announced that a licensee in dispute with the company decided to pay it $500 million, something that heavily reflected on the QTL financial results for fiscal Q3 2018. This number goes on top of a good fiscal Q3 2018 where the company beat previous estimates.  

Trade Wars strike again

Semiconductor firm Qualcomm indicated that it would drop its bid to buy Philips subsidiary NXP – looking like it is suffering from collateral damage because of the China-USA trade wars.

Starting at €420 in Europe

Xiaomi's  Pocophone lineup has been rumored earlier and it appears that the Pocophone F1 could be the most affordable smartphone with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC, rumored to be priced at €420 for the 6GB/64GB and €460 for the 6GB/128GB version.

Smaller and more affordable Mi A2 Lite in tow

Just as rumored earlier, Xiaomi has now unveiled its successor to the Mi A1 Android One smartphone, the aluminum unibody 5.99-inch Mi A2, which comes with some rather impressive specifications and a very affordable price. It also announced an even more affordable but less capable Mi A2 Lite version, which could be interesting to some buyers as well.
