You should all know that Hector Ruiz, AMD's CEO, said to its investors that he is disappointed with Barcelona delays and with bad scores in 2007.
It was interesting to hear Hector's confident tone where he said, “we are motivated and we can do it.” This probably gave its investors a lot of confidence, but he still left everyone in the dark about asset light and asset smart strategies.
Investors wait for a miracle; and everyone expects that AMD will sell off a fab, or at least the pieces of them, but this is highly unlikely to happen. We believe that this might be Hector’s last chance and if they fail with 45nm, he will likely have to go.
So, they better pull it off this time.
