As of today the Phenom 9850 Black edition with its 2.5GHz clock and overclocking capability is available in German e-tail.
It is listed significantly lower than the suggested retail price and we believe that at €199 it has a strong selling point.
This is the price without shipping and with shipping, it ends up at €206, again an acceptable price. At the same time, its biggest competition, the Q6600, the only mainstream and also the only available non extreme edition quad-core from Intel, is selling for €174 or some €25 less, and it will be interesting to compare these two.
It comes as no surprise that the AMD sales machine priced its 2.4GHz part branded as Phenom 9750 at the same €174. All 9x50 parts are bug-free and capable of some overclocking.
