Shaping a 16nm FinFET part

The Coolpad A9S-9 is the first phone spotted in the GFX Bench database and what makes this phone special is the fact that this is the first time we've seen a 16nm FinFET Plus based Helio P20 in the wild.

After Meizu MX5 came the MX6 and yet again the company chose the deca-core Helio X20 processor and packed it in a 5.5 inch phone that is 7.25 millimeters thin. Let’s not forget that the Helio X20 also brings the Cat 6. modem in play with support for carrier aggregation. 

While Vega sticks with 14nm

A little birdie told us that Nvidia is giving its Volta the 16nm FinFET treatment. This product uses stacked DRAM too so it looks like the whole thing will be pretty bleeding edge.

A company which is famous for its Flexguard Case has one ready for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. This would not be news if Samsung publicly announced this phone, but as you know, it didn’t.
