The Snapdragon 835 is officially released with a few more details and as Fudzilla first revealed, this 10nm SoC will rock most of the high-end phones in 2017.

To be fixed in 2018

Bad news for everyone who wanted to get an OLED TV soon. Some industry experts have told Fudzilla that current generation OLED TVs suffer from a built in defect and that the companies are seeing a lot of TVs being returned after a year of use.

VR, AR, AI mobile speeds of 1.8 Gbps

T-Mobile US is talking a lot about network un-carrier innovations including 4G advanced features such as 4x4 MIMO, QAM 256 and QAM 64 but it looks like the company is working hard on 5G too. T-Mobile has already demonstrated mobile speeds of 1.8 Gbps and fixed speeds of 12 Gbps with latency of 2ns. Things look to be much faster and seamless in 2017 and the years to come, Happy New 2017 Year, that gets us a step closer to that. 

4×4 MIMO and QAM 256 are the first step in the USA

Back in September, T-Mobile in the US announced that it supports 4×4 MIMO as well as QAM 256 on the download and QAM 64 on the upload side. The first phone to get this support was the Samsung Galaxy S7 and it looks like in 2017, T mobile will get you to 1Gbps class speeds or speeds up to 979 Mbps.

Hitting tablets, notebooks and phones near you

Qualcomm is tweeting a lot about Snapdragon 835 and it looks like that the company is ready to reveal a lot of details. Expect to see more about the Snapdragon 835, some Windows 10 design wins, quick charge, camera as well as VR related announcements. 

First Snapdragon and many Helios

Meizu has just announced that it reached a licensing agreement with Qualcomm and the leaked roadmap shows a few unannounced MediaTek SoCs as well as the company’s first Qualcomm powered phone. 

Surfing on a non-existing car wave

It looks like AMD is on schedule to finally show all the cards about Summit Ridge, the Ryzen - Zen desktop part but we found interesting that the famous Elon Musk largely built Tesla's success on the same strategy Lisa and her team used for AMD. 

But laptops / tablets might benefit

It looks like 2017 is going to be a year of 8GB RAM with high-end phones. Most manufacturers support 8GB with their phones and there is a clear trend to add more Random Access Memory to them. Tablets and laptops will benefit, as well.

Joins Samsung

SK Hynix has joined Samsung with its ability to deliver LPDDR4 8GB memory for future phones and tablets. Fudzilla expects to see quite a few phones with 8GB or RAM in the high end market next year, but we think that 8GB is pure marketing and unnecessary for most phone tasks. 

MediaTek has another design win in the 5.5-inch format

MediaTek had some success in the 5.5-inch market with HTC and it looks like the partnership will continue with HTC One X10 which will launch soon with the Helio P10 under the bonnet.
