Asus NovaGo with Snapdragon 835 - it's a hands on review

Hi my name is Fudo and I am an X86 addict. For most of my life I have been using X86 for productivity and I have flirted with Intel, AMD and even VIA (all caps). Now, the new player in town, Qualcomm, offers an ARM instruction, Snapdragon 835 based PC that runs Windows 10. We spent a few days with an Asus NovaGo 2-in-1 machine, and guess what, it works like a charm. You simply cannot tell that this is not based on a traditional Intel Core M X86, based CPU.  

Looking forward to the timeline

The April Update or the Windows Version 1803 is launching today, 30 April, ahead of May Day.  It was supposed to launch earlier but had a rather severe bug which delayed things a bit. To make it the April update, they had to launch it today and they managed it.  This is the one  codenamed  Red Stone 4.

Moving in real time

Cubic Motion,  which makes real-time model-based computer vision and facial animation, has appointed Roy Taylor to its Advisory Board. There is a video below showing what Cubic Motion is up too and it looks like that it has interesting motion capture tech for usie in the movie and gaming (unreal engine) industries.

It was rumored that Xiaomi is working on the fourth edition of its Mi Pad tabled and now XDA developers managed to score a file that confirms the existence of the new tablet.

Low volume 10nm this year

Intel announced its Q1 2018 results where the company claimed it did rather well, increasing its revenue by13 percent to $16.1 billion. It expects 10 percent better in the second quarter compared to the same quarter last year.

To improve performance in fiscal 2019

Qualcomm has released its financial results for the second quarter of  2018 and the company generated $5.3 billion, a five percent year over year positive change.

Pete Bannon takes Keller's driving wheel

Now that Jim Keller left Tesla for Intel, the new chap in control of Tesla's self-driving car is former PA Semi and Apple apostate Pete Bannon.

Updated: Leaves Tesla to kick-start Chipzilla

Jim Keller, the former AMD chip executive behind the Zen roadmap, has left Tesla for Intel and joining fellow AMD refugee Raja Koduri to help Chipzilla sort out of its manufacturing stall of the last few years.
