2x A73, 4X A53 and 4X A35

MediaTek has started making rather unique chips and its strategy was even followed by some of its competition. Helio X20 / X25 was the world’s first deca-core SoC that did a decent job, but Helio X30 again packs deca-core with an impressive alignment. 

First announcement

While many speculated about the 10nm soon-to-be-launched Snapdragon 830, a Chinese company Vernee,  has announced its first model, the Vernee Apollo 2 Pro, featuring Snapdragon 830. 

Catching up in the high end

MediaTek has changed its strategy for the high end market to make more competitive chips. The company plans to launch its first USA products this year as it has the Cat 6. capable modems but with 10nm announcement it wants to get closer to the big names in phone SoCs including Qualcomm, Samsung and Apple. 

Shipping in 2017

MediaTek has revealed that its 10nm processor will be manufactured by TSMC and that it should start shipping in early 2017. 

Helio, is it me you are looking for?

TSMC is gearing up to build MediaTek's new Helio X30 SoC using the 10nm process and it looks like everything will be set for volume production in the first quarter of 2017.

160,000 in AnTuTu

Analyst Pan Jiutang has posted a few details about the upcoming Helio X30 successor of Helio X25 chipset. He said this is another deca-core with a Cortex-A35 made using the 10nm process and scoring 160,000 in the AnTuTu benchmarks.

With six A72 and four A53 it looks great 

The rumoured Helio X30 is real and if you thought that X20 was not enough to see off Snapdragon 820, it looks like the Helio X30 has a much better chance.

Four A72 cores and helio X22 too

If you thought the Helio X20 with ten core was the best MediaTek could offer, the company has now come up with an X30 which is a faster version of deca-core and has four A72 cores.
