Get Amped 

Roughly two months after the original GTC 2020 schedule, Nvidia is ready to host the GTC 2020 spring keynote. The choice of words "Get Amped” in the press release gives you an idea that 7nm Ampere might get released at that time.

Ampere on life support?

The recent success of AMD’s 7nm 64 core Rome powerhouse is very bad news for ARM's server efforts. Over time, Calxeda and many others failed, and Cavium by Marvell and Ampere don’t seem to be better either. AMD is just jeopardizing last chances for all existing ARM players to make any meaningful footprint on the data center and server market.

A different angle look

The Navi paper-launched when I was still in sunny Tuscany taking a break from the tech, but here are some of the things that have caught my attention. No Ray tracing, no high end, and only performance/mainstream, not much benefit from 7nm, and nine months late to fight 2070 are just a part of it.

The one after 2018 Turing

Fudzilla wants to make something clear. Ampere is not a mining GPU, it is not a gaming, and it is not an AI-focused Tensor Core GPU, it is all of the above, and comes after Turing 2018 GPU.
