Four SKUs with some aggressive pricing

AMD has now officially lifted the NDA veil off its new 2nd generation Ryzen Threadripper 2000-series lineup. The lineup has four different SKUs that will be available on different dates, including the workstation-oriented Threadripper 2990WX and the Threadripper 2970WX, as well as consumer/enthusiast-oriented Threadripper 2950X and the Threadripper 2920X.

The flagship Threadripper 2990WX gets unboxed

Just a few days ahead of the official announcement, the packaging for AMD's upcoming 2nd gen Ryzen Threadripper 2000-series CPUs has appeared online alongside the full unboxing of the flagship Threadripper 2990WX.

Flagship Threadripper 2990X gets listed in Canada

Since we are drawing closer to the official launch of AMD's 2nd generation Ryzen Threadripper 2000-series CPUs, it comes as no surprise that these are starting to show up online, and currently, HWBOT is listing specification of three 2nd gen Ryzen Threadripper SKUs, while the flagship Ryzen Threadripper 2990X has been spotted in e-tail for around $1850.

No notebooks and slim EPYC

AMD got mostly positive comments on its financial performance in Q2 18, and it did a great job having the highest quarter in five years. The logic behind this data is that AMD had more than five years of very weak product portfolio to sell especially in desktop/data center and since early 2017 they finally have Ryzen on desktop and EPYC on the data center side.  

Might even bring higher core count to AM4

According to recent rumors, AMD's Zen 2 architecture will bring impressive IPC performance boost and could even bring a higher core count, all thanks to the new 7nm manufacturing process.

The 32-core/64-thread beast incoming

According to the latest reports, AMD could be launching its 2nd Generation Threadripper SKUs on August 13th and it could cost a pretty penny.

Both are good overclockers

While we have already seen some details, a fresh leak regarding AMD's upcoming Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X SKUs has shown up online, revealing a lot more details as well as an impressive overclocking potential.

Little quad-core is quite an overclocker

AMD has enjoyed the praise its Ryzen 2nd Generation CPUs have been getting from both the press and consumers but now it appears that the entry-level market will be getting the same taste with Ryzen 3 2300X, which happens to be quite an overclocker, at least judging from these first leaks.
