Bringing better battery life and new system architecture

It has been a while since we have seen an update to the wearable platform but although some doubted Qualcomm's dedication to that part of the market, the company obviously did not give up on it, and the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 should not only fix the biggest flaw of previous smartwatches, the battery life, but also bring plenty of other improvements.

No 5G NR form factor devices yet

The IFA consumer trade show has just finished, and we wanted to share a bit about  5G with focus on the big silicon manufacturers. Both Samsung and Huawei didn’t show anything at the show, while both companies reassured us that they will have something later.

A significant step forward in Geekbench 4

The press usually relies too much on benchmarks but they at least tell you that a subject A is better or worse than subject B. The recently posted GeekBench of Snapdragon 855 shows that the new 7nm SoC from Qualcomm scores much better than its predecessor.

Snapdragon Takes Aim at 5G with 7nm SoC

Qualcomm has reached a mutual agreement - a settlement with the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission (TFTC) - resolving its investigation of Qualcomm and Qualcomm’s litigation challenging the TFTC’s decision alleging violations of Taiwan’s Fair-Trade Act.

199M Snapdragons in Q3 FY2018

Qualcomm has announced its financial Q3 2018 results and the company ended up with $5.6 billion of revenue, at the top end of its $4.8 – $5.6 billian guidance. Non-GAAP diluted EPS was expected at $0.65 - $0.75 and in reality it ended up at $1.01.
