Chipzilla has not had much luck with its Arc Alchemist graphics cards, but apparently, it is hoping that a forthcoming driver update might offer a sizeable enough performance gain to keep it in the game.

Optimises many games

Intel has released a new GPU graphics driver for the Arc A770 and Arc A750 that optimises many games with minor performance improvements and fixes several key issues on nine titles.

Linux not so much

Intel and AMD-based platforms can update Arc GPU firmware, and Intel's Management Engine is not required for firmware updates, according to the latest pronoucement from Chipzilla.

Starts with custom Arc A380/A310 cards

Following the likes of ASRock, ASUS, MSI, and other partners, Gigabyte is now joining the Intel Arc party, and according to a few leaked EEC filings, we will see at least five SKUs, based on A380 and A310 GPUs.

Glitchy, no DirectX 12 or Vulkan graphics APIs

While Intel's Arc A750 and A770 GPUs have been finally released after so delays that even those waiting for Godot would have given up, there is some muttering amongst users about first-generation woes.

Both Limited Edition and custom designs from other OEMs

Intel has officially announced the general availability of its Arc A770 and Arc A750 desktop graphics cards. Some have already been spotted in retail/e-tail earlier and some have already started to show up in Europe as well.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger has announced ARC 770 limited edition with an October 12 launch date and an aggressive $329 price tag. On the same day, Shadows of Tomb Raider got a XeSS update. The XeSS stands for Xe Super sampling, similar to Nvidia's Deep-Learning Supersampling DLSS and AMD’s FSR.
