Spinoff coming for Assassin?s Creed II
Cat out of the bag and confirmed by Ubisoft
Yesterday, we heard about the vague possibility of an Assassin’s Creed II spinoff title while we were speaking with one of our sources about the confirmation of HAWX 2, but it didn’t seem solid enough for us to report on. Now, 24 hours later we find that our source had it right; Assassin’s Creed II will be getting a spinoff title that will arrive later this year called Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.
While the big news with this title might be the new multiplayer mode, all we know so far is that Ezio will be headed to Rome to engage the Templars with the help of the Brotherhood of Assassins to help him. Ubisoft is apparently now confirming that this is accurate and the title will be released later this year.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood when released later this year will be coming for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC platform. No official release date has been announced, but while we know it will arrive this year in time for the holiday season, an official release date is expected to be announced at E3 in just a few short weeks.
