MT6795 is now Helio X10

Starting last week, following a strong showing at the Mobile World Congress, MediaTek has a new brand name for its premium phone SoCs that is easier to remember than MT, followed by four digits. 

Both rely on MediaTek 6795 SoC

HTC will be launching two cool phones to follow up the HTC One M9 release. The flagship phone looks good and performs quite well, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. We could not get to overheat it doing our time with the device. 

For high-end SoCs

One of the hottest things we learned at the Mobile World Congress is that MediaTek is working with AMD on mobile SoC graphics.

MediaTek is definitely Qualcomm's number one competitor in the smartphone space, and the company has just announced rather interesting product for tablets as well. 

Neck and neck with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810

While Qualcomm's 20nm Snapdragon 810 SoC might be the star of upcoming flagship smartphones, it appears that MediaTek has its own horse for the race, the octa-core MT6795.

Fresh rumours out of China suggest the new Meizu MX4 smartphone will feature a 41-megapixel camera. 

New MT2601 SoC inside

MediaTek recently showed off a number of smartwatch designs, including models designed for the tiny MT2502 Aster process, and some Android Wear prototypes. 

Longer battery life

It appears that Asus is planning to launch a new smartwatch, but unlike the ZenWatch WI500Q, the new device won’t rock Android Wear.
