The rumor that Microsoft is out to buy Logitech, their main competitor in the mouse/keyboard market, is some two months old. Allegedly, Microsoft was ready to lay out 8 billion dollars for this company. The stock market did, of course, react rapidly, so Logitech’s shares soared, but only for one day.
However, Logitech’s President, Guerrino De Luca, said that such a deal just doesn’t make sense and added:” With no competition, Logitech would lose motivation to keep bringing innovative projects. Besides, there would be problems with the law, because these two companies would basically own the keyboard and mouse market.”
